On
Monday last President McAleese met and honoured all the young
players from various sports who have excelled at their sport
all year.
The Irish Handball Council has nominated Maria Daly to meet the
president. Five other handball players have also been nominated.
Maria Daly has been in great form all year. She has dominated
as the young female player for 2002 and her achievements are
as follows:

ALL-IRELAND LADIES U13/17 INTERPROVINCIAL 40 x 20
On Saturday the Ladies Munster Inter provincial Team were
defeated in The All Ireland Final. Munster defeated Connaught
in the semi-final 114-40. Maria daly sustained an injury
in the semi-final. Lenister defeated Munster in the final
86-84. Kerry were represented by Eight players: Sharon Twomey,
Brenda Carmody, Ashley Prendiville, Caitriona Casey, Sandy
McSwiney, Lisa Falvey, Maria Daly, all from Ballymacelligott
and Karen Lawlor, Tralee.
