The club sympathises with Murty McEllistrim and his family
following the death of Murtys wife Carmel last week. Carmel
kept all the pictures; paper cuttings etc of the Handball Club
during the years that Murty and Roundy and later Shamie played
handball. She was always willing to lend the archive material
to us when needed and was always delighted to get it back. But
for her work in keeping and storing the material we would not
have all the photos and paper cuttings that we have used during
the past number of years. She was very proud of her familys
involvement and very generous and welcoming when we called for
something we needed down through the years. We will miss her.
May she rest in peace.
In the Ladies Junior Singles All Ireland Final Tracey
Flyte (Donegal ) defeated Sharon Daly (Ballymacelligott) in
the ladies Junior Singles All Ireland 21/20, 21/4. The game
was played in Curraghboy, Co. Roscommon yesterday.
Six Ballymacelligott players represented Munster on Saturday
last when they defeated Leinster in the ladies inter provincial
team of ten. The final score was 210/68. This was the first
60 x 30 game of the season for Kerry players and they got off
to a very good start. Well done to our girls who once again
played very well and brought six more All Ireland medals to
the club. The club team members as follows:
