· Training for beginners will continues on Sunday morning between 11.30 to 1.00pm. All beginners welcome. The training will take place in the small court.

· The new 40 x 20 Juvenile Handball season kicked off to a great start on Saturday last at Tralee and Ballymacelligott where 48 players turned out for the ‘Trophyworld’ Interclub Tournament. This was the second year of this event, which caters for the U-12, U-13, and U14 age group, boys and girls. Tralee, Gaeltacht, Glenbeigh and Ballymac Clubs were represented, and there was some good handball played. Eight teams of six players gave their best for a place in the final but the honour fell to the Orange Team: Ashley Prendiville, (Ballymac) Finbar Fitzpatrick (Glenbeigh) Paul Culloty (Ballymac) Gearoid O’Ciobhain (Gaeltacht)Rory O Connor (Glenbeigh) Niamh Moriarty (Tralee) and the Black Team : Daithi O Shea (Gaeltacht) Caoimhin O Shea (Gaeltacht) Colm O Muircheartaigh (Gaeltacht) Padraigh Mac Uaidh (Gaeltacht) Garry Marshall (Tralee) Claire Fitzgerald (Tralee). The final, played in Ballymacelligott was a cracker and very close with just two aces between the teams. The gallery was packed for the final. The new facilities at Ballymac court proved a great asset on the day, and the Club are to be complimented on this. Sincere thanks: to the Referees, Parents, Club and Co. Board Officials, who all played their part in ensuring that the day was a memorable one for handball. We now look forward to the County Finals.
One of the highlights of the day turned out to be a showcase of handball provided by John O Donnell (Tralee) and Tim Prendiville (Ballymac) during the interval, before the final. This game went down a treat, and was a great opportunity for the young players to see some class handball. Thanks to John and Tim.
· The U10,11,12, and 13 singles will take place in Tralee on Saturday Jan. 4th at 12noon.

· The Liscarroll Annual Singles Tournament will take place for U15s on the 28th and 29th December. Entry forms available from all Club secretaries.

· The Tom O’Connor Memorial Tournament will be held in the Ballymacelligott Handball Club on Friday 28th December 2002.

Christmas Greetings

The Club wishes to say thanks to all our players, trainers, coaches and supporters who are the life and soul of our club. The Club has put in a lot of work into renovating the building during the year. We wish to thank all those involved for all the work that is done to complete a project like this. We thank especially Tim Griffin, Breda Riordan and Margaret Laide our Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer for completing all the background work , like fundraising, that is never seen. We also thank Joe Moynihan and his FAS workers for their great work. A special thanks to Maria Daly for all the enjoyment and pride she has brought to our Club this year.
