Three
girls from our club swept the singles All Irelands last weekend.
The three girls Sandie McSwiney, Lisa Falvey and Ashley Prendiville
won the U16, U15 and U14 singles. This is a fantastic result
and well deserved as all the girls train very hard all year.
Girls U16S: Sandy McSwiney ( Ballymac) defeated
Lisa McAleer 21/7, 21/4. This was the first juvenile title in
60 x 30 this year.
Girls U15S: Kerry (Lisa Falvey) defeated Kilkenny
(Anne Marie Hawe) 21/4, 21/19. This was Lisa’s second
title this year as she also won the U15 Doubles with Gemma O
Connell.
Girls U14S: Kerry (Ashley Prendiville) defeated
Carlow (Lydia Tracey) 15/4, 15/9. This was a deserved win for
Ashley and a great personal triumph. This is Ashley’s
first singles All Ireland title.
The three girls have numerous Team titles notched up over the
past few years. Well done to you all!
Boys
U16D: The Ballymac duo did not have luck with them
in the All Ireland U16 doubles. Westmeath (Robert McCarthy,
& John O’ Shaughnessy defeated Padraig McCarthy &
Gary O’Connor, Ballymac 21/16, 21/4.
Girls U14 D: This game was played last Wednesday
night in Williamstown Co. Galway. The Kerry girls were unfortunate
to lose in a tiebreaker.
· Marianna Rushe & Katie Costello (Roscommon) defeated
Karen Lawlor (Tralee) and Catriona Casey (Ballymacelligott)
11/15, 15/12, 15/11.
U12-U13 Munster Semi-final
·
Cork play Kerry in a semi-final the winners play Clare in the
Munster Final. The Cork v Kerry game takes place on Monday night
in Ballymacelligott 8pm.
